Intro

South Pole is seeking a Project Implementation Specialist for Africa. The company offers comprehensive sustainability solutions and services, aiming to create a sustainable society and economy. The specialist will assist in the implementation of climate mitigation projects, support the development and implementation of carbon projects, conduct capacity building activities, and interact with internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate should have relevant experience in project implementation, good communication and collaboration skills, and fluency in English and Portuguese.

Aufgaben

Assist in the implementation of climate mitigation projects
Support the implementation team with the development of work plans, work schedules, budgets, and deliverables
Conduct capacity building activities for project partners on different project implementation matters
Conduct site visits and other types of business trips/training whenever needed
Participate in meetings with the government at a central and provincial level to ensure that projects are aligned with public procedures
Assist in the identification of possible partners and collaborators for the development and implementation of projects
Support all the necessary due diligence activities to ensure South Pole investment
Ensure the quality of deliverables and financial viability in the implementation of projects
Drive the interaction with internal and external stakeholders associated with the projects
Support the representation of South Pole at meetings locally when requested
Participate in formal and informal networking opportunities and share relevant contacts and information on possible opportunities with the Global Sourcing team

Anforderungen

Relevant experience with project implementation particularly in any of the following activities in Agriculture, Conservation, Forestry, Climate Change Mitigation/Adaptation or related fields type of projects
Several experience in Agriculture, Conservation, Forestry, Climate Change Mitigation/Adaptation or related fields type of projects
Ability to interact with government representatives
Good communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work in an interdisciplinary, global team
Good prioritization and time management skills
Excellent oral and written skills in English and Portuguese
