The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft is looking for a motivated student assistant to contribute to the analysis, design, and implementation of data traffic models in optical communication networks using dedicated traffic generators hardware. The position is initially limited to 6 months with the possibility of extension. The monthly working time is 80 hours. The ideal candidate should be enrolled in a Bachelor/Master program in the field of electrical engineering, computer science, software engineering, or related fields. They should have excellent programming skills, preferably in Python, and knowledge and understanding of time-series and time-series analysis. Experience in data engineering and data pipelines is required, and experience with Apache Kafka and InfluxDB is a plus. Familiarity with software development and prototyping life cycle, software version control, and Git is also desired. The candidate should be fluent in English, a team player with a structured way of working, and able to work with little guidance.
