The Berghof Foundation has initiated a high-level conference series on
peace making in the new era. This newly established 2-day and annually held conference aims to generate new and innovative ideas to enhance the transformative and preventive potential of mediation by bringing together international mediators, diplomats, state actors, policymakers, conflict parties and donors together with individual thought leaders from other sectors and disciplines. Through unique and different formats, focusing on one main geographic and thematic focus together with a diverse audience, this conference provides a deliberative space for strengthening and rethinking the concepts and practices of peacemaking, mediation and support to peace processes.
To support our newly established conference series and to ensure its outreach, reputation and continuity, you are developing, managing and implementing all fundraising and strategic partnership activities for the conference series.
Overview of the position:
Hours: full-time or part-time (at least 28 up to 40 hrs per week)
Starting date: as soon as possible
Duration: limited contract for 12 months
Location: Berlin, Germany
Main tasks and responsibilities:
- You develop the campaign fundraising strategy, set campaign sub-goals, identify new potential partners and donors, develop tailored proposals and coordinate solicitations
- You supervise and coordinate all fundraising operations for the conference series working closely with the Strategic Partnership team as well as external partners and donors
- You plan and implement donor events and participate at external events
- You coordinate closely with the Communications team, the Executive Office and other relevant teams
- You conduct professional contact management and build lasting relationships
Your knowledge, experience & skills
- University degree in a relevant field
- Relevant professional experience in capital campaigns fundraising and partnerships management with an existing network preferable
- Experience in writing tailored proposals for both governments and private foundations
- Excellent communication, coordination and campaign management skills
- Excellent communications skills in both English and German
- Experience with contact management systems
