BIRKENSTOCK, a global lifestyle brand known for quality, functionality, and well-being, is seeking a Head of Brand Activation Europe (m/f/d) to join their team in Cologne. As the biggest employer in the German footwear industry, BIRKENSTOCK has a rich history dating back to 1774 and offers a diverse product range that includes sandals, closed shoes, accessories, natural cosmetics, beds, and sleep systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and driving the European brand activation strategy, building and maintaining relationships with key media titles and tastemakers, leading a team of 3 direct reports, and executing approved concepts under strict deadlines. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a leading brand activation/community/PR position, preferably in the fashion/lifestyle industry, and possess excellent communication and organizational skills.   • Create, own and drive the European brand activation strategy
  • Build and maintain strong relationships to important tastemakers/communities and key media titles across Europe
  • Lead a successful execution of European brand management priorities
  • Present ideas on a regular basis for creative and editorial content and activation, and execute approved concepts under strict deadlines
  • Develop and deliver community programs and scale across our European key cities
  • Measure and analyze results and show value of effort through regular reporting
  • Build and lead a team of 3 direct reports across Europe


  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a leading brand activation/community/PR position – preferably in the fashion/lifestyle industry
  • First experience in leading and developing a team
  • A passion for our brand, fashion and the lifestyle around our key communities
  • A consumer-driven approach, willing to challenge ideas and strategies with insights, and open to take calculated risks
  • Strategic in approach and planning, and creative in execution
  • Proven track of building sustainable relationships internally and externally
  • A digital mindset to cope with our ever-changing landscape of touchpoints, publishers and tastemakers
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time effectively
  • Excellent communications skills and ability to express ideas clearly and concisely
  • Strong organizational skills and a hands-on mentality
  • Effective budget management
  • Fluent English language skills and intercultural competence
  • Willingness to travel across Europe
