Legal Counsel - Part-time (All genders)

To help us bring amazing hearing technology to more people around the world, we are looking for a Legal Couns el, reporting to the CFO for part-time employment of up to 20 hours per week in Berlin. 

WHAT YOU WILL DO
As our Legal Counsel, you will...

• Consult on all legal matters that affect the company in Germany and globally
• Resolve complex business and risk management issues 
• Monitor legislative and legal developments to anticipate required changes to business processes and help ensure that the company is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations in our various markets
• Ensure GDPR compliance
• Define and implement the strategy for any legal dispute
• Interface with external specialised counsel (commercial, corporate, labour, DPO, IP)
• Serve as a strategic partner to the Commercial team and assist with the negotiation and conclusion of contractual arrangements such as license agreements
• Support CFO on legal aspects of fundraising / corporate financing law processes as well as corporate law topics (e.g. board & shareholder resolutions, cap table)
• Manage and improve legal processes at Mimi (eg. signature flows, creation of legal templates) 

• 3+ years of working experience as a lawyer or a legal expert in a multinational in-house environment or private practice
• Relevant experience in  corporate, commercial contract, IP law or GDPR (we do not expect you to be a specialist in all of those areas, but to be able to direct the work of specialised external lawyers)
• Excellent judgment and adept at combining legal analysis with a close understanding of the relevant business priorities and company’s risk appetite to drive issues to a quick resolution that factor in many non-legal variables and broader business concerns
• Strong strategic organisational and project management skills, negotiation, and analytical skills
• Ability to coordinate with external lawyers while maintaining priorities and proactively anticipating issues
• Strong collaborative leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain productive relationships with colleagues
• Fluent in German with excellent written and oral English language skills

• Experience in an international law firm
• Corporate law experience (e.g. corporate fundraisings, due diligence, acquisitions and corporate governance) 
• An MBA
