ABOUT THE ROLE
The Transparency International Secretariat (TI-S) is currently seeking a Project Legal Specialist (m/w/d), ideally French-speaking and with experience in environmental legislation, to join the Policy and Advocacy team. In particular, this position will provide support to the Global Anti-Corruption Consortium Corruption (GACC), a ground-breaking partnership between investigative journalists from the Organised Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) and TI.
Since 2021, the TI movement has been implementing its new strategy Holding Power to Account – A Global Strategy Against Corruption 2021-2030. We are looking for a talented and outstanding individual to support our legal accountability case work under Strategic Objective 5 – Enforcement and Justice with the development of legal submissions related to grand corruption cases.
The main role of the Project Legal Specialist is to analyse corruption cases as reported by media, TI national chapters, civil society organisations and international organisations. In addition to this, it is to stay abreast of international policy debates, political developments, law enforcement actions and suggest angles for legal follow-up and potential case-based support to policy type of advocacy work, including strategic casework. The role of the Project Legal Specialist also includes, as a member of the GACC team and its legal unit, taking part in the preparation of legal submissions to law enforcement, regulatory agencies or other relevant entities like international organisations, compliance units of private bodies, professional associations etc.

OVERVIEW OF KEY DIMENSIONSRole Purpose: Providing legal guidance on grand corruption cases within TI Secretariat as well as to TI National Chapters and other partners; planning, reviewing and drafting case submissions related to grand corruption.

Salary Band: Salary according to TI-S internal salary structure; for this position corresponding to band PF2 a salary starting 42.000 EUR gross per year depending on relevant experience
Starting Date: October 2022 (subject to funding)
Contract Duration: Currently we can offer an employment contract for a duration of 2 years (including a probation period of six months). There is a prospect of extension subject to organisational need continuing, performance proven and funding confirmed and there is interest in a stable and long-term cooperation.
