Intro

The Warehouse & Logistics Manager position at AbbVie offers an exciting opportunity to join a global company dedicated to discovering and providing innovative medicines to combat today's health challenges and those of the future. As part of a diverse Supply Chain team in Ludwigshafen, Germany, the Warehouse & Logistics Manager will be responsible for managing people, processes, systems, and assets to ensure goods are received, stored, and dispatched appropriately and according to schedule. The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration and/or Engineering with a logistics focus or a comparable education, at least 5 years of relevant work experience within Supply Chain & Logistics or a related field, and a strong understanding of SCM processes, specifically in warehouse and distribution activities. Aufgaben

Manage the department including staffing, training, performance management and career development of associates, and developing and monitoring department goals
Ensure an efficient warehouse operation which is able to fulfil operational and customer demand
Continuously monitor Warehouse KPIs and drive improvement initiatives
Provide a safe working environment, adhering to Environmental, Health & Safety procedures and ensure they are understood and practiced by the team at all times
Create policies and procedures for warehouse activities and ensure all processes & systems do meet the standards for accreditation in line with AbbVie’s Quality Systems
Prepare the annual Warehousing budget and forecasts as well as Capital Expenditure proposals
Ensure efficient and effective use of warehouse space to include layout and future capacity requirements
Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance
Contribute to new business initiatives and projects and review and communicate the impact on Warehousing activities
Oversee operation of warehouse management systems and automated storage and retrieval systems
Ensure that vehicles, machinery and equipment is well maintained and fit for purpose
Selection, control and monitoring of external logistics service providers (3PLs)
Overview & control of the operative disposal processes of the site

Anforderungen

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration and or Engineering with a logistics focus or a comparable education
At least 5 years of relevant work experience within Supply Chain & Logistics or related field, ideally in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment / GMP environment
Sound understanding of SCM processes, specifically in warehouse and distribution activities
Strong work safety and process safety mindset and proven track record in applying it (environment, health & safety policies and standards)
Good knowledge of current quality management standards and pharmaceutical regulations (GMP, GDP), inspection experience is desirable
Proven experience in process design, mapping & documentation
Strong skills using MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Experience with SAP S4/HANA - Supply Chain Execution, Materials- & Warehouse Management
Experience with managing Third Party Logistics providers
Strong leadership abilities with capability to work in a hands-on environment
High sense for urgency with can-do mindset and customer orientation
Confident personality with strong communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent analysis and evaluation skills with a drive to challenge the status quo
Desirable: project management skills (continuous improvement, methodology and tools)
Business fluency in German & English (written & verbal)
