The role: 

Vay is planning to roll out a global mobility service. We are integrating our Vay system (cameras, ECUs, network equipment) into homologated vehicles and building up Teledrive Stations. We are building their our own hardware as well as buying components from Tier1 suppliers. As a Manager in Procurement and Supply Chain, you will play a key role in defining success for this endeavor. You will be responsible for the purchasing process from selecting suppliers to ensuring stock optimization, as well as provide guidance on sourcing and procurement processes. You will be a supply chain and logistics expert who will specialize in implementing cost-effective purchases of all goods and services, as required by the company. Ensuring quality control and adhering to the company’s policies and procedures on supply chain management will be some of your main priorities when carrying out this role.

The responsibilities:

• strategic procurement activities across multiple products and services

• sourcing equipment, goods, and services

• supervising the development and execution of the procurement plan

• determine quantity and timing of deliveries

• monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand

• manage vendors (research of new and profitable suppliers, establish relationships, craft negotiation strategies, close deals with optimal terms)

• align production/purchasing-BOM (Bill of Materials) with the development engineering team

• perform cost and scenario analysis

• track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve the effectiveness

• achieve cost targets defined together with leadership team for vehicle and TS

• develop generic sourcing roadmap and sourcing storyline for vehicles and telestations

• certification and development of Vay global supplier network

• set-up procurement internal processes and documentation

• define and set-up efficient logistic and customs processes for global Vay suppliers

• monitor storage and distribution of goods ensuring that the right products are delivered to the right location (e.g. Vay warehouses) on time and at a good cost

The profile:

• German and English is a must

• degree in finance, supply chain management, or another business-related field

• experience a tech-related field

• strong analytical, decision-making, and negotiation skills

• ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and vendors

• solid interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written in german and English

• ability to multitask and manage multiple deadlines

• familiarity with working in a fast paced environment

• experience working with Project Management

Nice to haves:

• understanding of basic automotive systems
