The Staff Software Engineer position at Mozilla is a remote job opportunity that requires a passionate and experienced backend engineer to help deliver world-class applications across the Pocket product line. The Pocket team is focused on connecting people to the power, possibility, and magic of the web, and this role is fundamental to Pocket's success. The ideal candidate will be responsible for owning significant pieces of the architecture that power experiences in Firefox and Pocket applications and web surfaces, developing reusable patterns and practices for deploying systems at scale on cloud platforms, and delivering new features to users by developing and enhancing APIs. Additionally, the candidate will collaborate with peers, mentor other engineers, and share progress with the greater organization. The position requires at least 7+ years of professional experience, experience scaling a platform to handle millions of users, and direct experience with infrastructure technologies such as AWS, GCP, Terraform, Cloudformation, AWS/Terraform Cloud Development Kit, and/or Docker.
